The picture I choose this week is one that I had taken on one of of Sunday afternoon drives.

This is Medicine Lake, it is really cool. In the begging of summer the lake is full . If you look at the picture you can see the tree line that is where the water usually sits. Come fall the water starts to disappear, there is what they call sink holes. The Native American people named this Lake Medicine Lake because of its seemingly magical powers, and the United Nations created the Rocky Mountain Parks World Heritage Site partly because of this unique drainage system.

    Pretty pic. Did they ever figure out if the indian legend is true? I wonder if the water pulls minerals back into the lake when it fills up.
