16 and Pregnant

I decided that I needed to watch this show just to see how it was. My concern is that they wouldn’t show the reality of being a young mom and how HARD it is to being a young mom.
So the first one I watched it was so wrong in so many ways. The girl was a cheerleader in high school and she went to continue being on for many months I think she was like 5 months when she quit the team and not cause she was pregnant but because the team had a different view of her after they found out that she was Pregnant. Another thing that really bothered me about this show was when they showed her in labor they didn’t show any of the hard parts , this girl made it seem like it was a piece of cake.
The second one that I watched was not to bad but it still bothered me, young girl with her boyfriend . Pregnant and living on there own, this episode did show how they struggled with money and that things weren’t a piece of cake. It showed how they fought about little things, how the boyfriend wanted to have things that weren’t really reality when they had a baby coming. Her labor was harder and they did show things from that , but you sure don’t get the full picture.
Over all I don’t like this show, I think that MTV made a really bad choice by producing this type of program. I bet that a percent of girls that watch this will now think that it is hard but look all these girls did it ! My girls like it but my 17 year old think being pregnant is gross and doesn’t want to have babies cause it all is gross she says.
I think with the way things are in society with booze and drugs MTV could have over all picked a better topic for a show !

Oh, honey, they also have a show called "Engaged and Underage", "My Super Sweet 16" and several others that are just perpetuating the horrible entitled behavior of teens today.
What happened to Mtv being cutting edge and relevant?
I agree completely! The first time I saw this show I thought it was wrong on so many levels and I definitely do not think that it is in any way a deterrent (and I do assume that MTV was trying to make it a "if you get pregnant it will be hard like this" kinda show) but it is so NOT!
I also could just see some stupid teenage girl getting pregnant just to get on MTV!
